Japanese Lace Fern
The Japanese Lace Fern, also known as a Tassel Fern has fronds that form a graceful shuttlecock shape with glossy and stiff dark green leaves. The young fronds are yellowish-green and covered with hair-like golden scales. Soto loves this fern for evergreen texture in shady areas of the garden.
Top Tip

How to care for Japanese Lace Fern
Aspect
The Japanese Lace Fern is a great option for the shade but also does well in partial shade.
Care Level
Cut back old fronds in the spring before new ones begin to unfurl. This will encourage stronger, taller fronds to develop through.
Watering
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Feeding
Plant with a good quality, peat free compost. Throughout the spring and summer feed monthly with a liquid fertiliser to boost growth.
Soil
Prefers moist, well-drained soil.
