Plant tulip bulbs in late October, November or December for best results. It is best to wait until the weather is cool before planting

How deep should tulip bulbs be planted?

Plant tulip bulbs around 15cm deep. Most bulbs should be planted at a depth of roughly 2-3 times their own height.

How should you space your tulip bulbs?

Tulips perform best when planted 8-10 cm apart. When planting in a container, they can be planted a bit closer together.

Where can you plant a tulip bulb?

Plant tulip bulbs in borders or pots. They are a great way of adding splashes of colour to borders and a pop of interest to patios and courtyards.

Can you plant tulips as part of a pot display?

Bulbs can be used to create a ‘bulb lasagne’ with different varieties in the same pot.

Is there more than one type of Tulip bulb variety?

Yes, there are fifteen different varieties. Read more about them here.

Any other tips for planting bulbs?

For best flowering results, store bulbs in a cool, frost free, place until you are ready to plant them. Remove bulbs from their packaging so they can get some fresh air, but make sure your pets don’t nibble them. It is important to plant bulbs within the same season that they are supplied.
